Gordon Franklin Terry Sr writes: on Nov 03 2009 05:54 AM I'm glad THE HOBBIT'S on track still: someone said THE HOBBIT would be divided into three movies. I guess HOWARD SHORE will do the "Magnificent Score;" and the acting will be "over-blown" . . . but nevertheless THE HOBBIT will be an outstanding, remarkable, visual masterpiece. and there will be another slew of Hobbit-related XBOX 360 games (as Gamecube is now the Wii). All of the LORD OF THE RINGS' videogames are purely AWESOME--(sounds come out of all six speakers! stampeding elephants and Gigantic trolls) ONWARD HOBBIT!!!!!!!!! (Reply to this) |

King Thor writes: on Nov 03 2009 07:36 AM Gordon-the Hobbit is (from what i've heard) supposed to be a singular movie itself, but a sequel to the hobbit (the time between the hobbit and the lord of the rings) is supposed to be being made at the same time and released a year later. McKellan is perfect as Gandalf, but as I've said before, I wish they would make him as powerful as he is in the books. And Hugo Weaving needs to come back as Elrond. He was great as well. Not L. writes: on Nov 03 2009 08:20 AM So ummm.. the book has been published for how many years now? And the script is a secret.. because...? Oh, and it's been mentioned many times that the Hobbit will be a 2-movie affair, 1 book split into 2 parts (Reply to this) |

Goondockian writes: on Nov 03 2009 08:52 AM Ummm.. did you watch the LOR. Pretty different from book to screen. (Reply to this) |

Dave J. writes: on Nov 03 2009 11:26 AM I have no worries over this one, only that it should've been done alot sooner had New Line Cinema honored whatever Peter Jackson had wanted. (Reply to this) |

De4ective Detectiv3 writes: on Nov 03 2009 12:12 PM More excited for this movie then I was LoTR. Call it a crime, but I have a lot more faith in Del Toro than Jackson. Jackson's version of LoTR borrowed heavily from the 70s animated version. It really felt like after Fellowship they started to drag. They had their moments(shelob, the ents, the orc tower), but it just felt like Jackson ran out of steam. The movies started to get a little drab, visually. I know it was part of the books, but it just felt a little lazy how they all climaxed in one big battle scene. I like the way the Hobbit doesn't take itself so seriously. For my money, Del Toro is the most visually interesting director working today. If Hellboy 2 was any indication, he's gonna have a feild day w/ this. Can't wait to see him rub some of his magic off on this movie. (Reply to this) |

rle4lunch writes: on Nov 03 2009 03:44 PM Hellboy 2 was decent, and had great visuals, but it was borderline dumb too. I don't think he'll screw up Hobbit, but it'll be markedly different than LOTR in the look and feel. Just as long as there isn't any Barry Manilow, I'll be good to go. (Reply to this) |

Coyote22 writes: on Nov 03 2009 04:30 PM I don't have a lot of faith in Del Toro's story telling ability, yet with Jackson and the rest on board there should be at least enough story telling talent to get the job done (I hope). (Reply to this) |

Hamboner writes: on Nov 03 2009 08:08 PM I wonder if they'll bring back Viggo Mortensen. Aragorn technically was around during the events of the Hobbit, and if they delve into the wider universe there may be interaction between him and Gandalf in south Mirkwood. ***Nerdgasm*** (Reply to this) |

martinscorsese25 writes: on Nov 04 2009 03:21 AM Del Torro is with a different company now. but it's nice to see he got along with Jackson very well. hopefully, he inputs his own trademark even though he's the new guy out of all the writers. havent readay LOTR novels but i'm still very excited. it's nice that things are moving along. i thought there was "problem", i'm glad i am wrong (Reply to this) |
