James T. writes: on Dec 13 2009 07:08 PM The Hurt Locker was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It can heart pounding at moments and the film does a really good job in portraying what U.S. soldiers go through in modern war of today. I give it 100% all the way. (Reply to this) |

Mike M. writes: on Dec 13 2009 07:08 PM Wanted to see The Hurt Locker when it came out. Never had the time to do so. Hopefully there will be at least a small re-release due to the accolades. (Reply to this) |

JohnnyJonJon writes: on Dec 13 2009 07:14 PM In reply to this comment (#2571788) I hope so too. It wasn't available anywhere near where I live when it came out, and that drove me nuts. It looks amazing! (Reply to this) |

Gil L. writes: on Dec 13 2009 07:20 PM I am sort of surprised that Yolande Moreau won for best actress, but it's mostly because I haven't even heard about this movie. This has been a very bad year for women, but on the other hand men ^^ nicely done^^. (Reply to this) |

Bloody Mathias writes: on Dec 13 2009 08:48 PM The Hurt Locker deserves to win, it's the best film of the year as far as i'm concerned. But Up in the Air was suprisingly good. Much better than Thank You For Smoking and Juno. But isn't it a bit early to be giving out awards? We still have 2 weeks to go and at least 3 films to debut, The Lovely Bones, Avatar and Sherlock Holmes. (Reply to this) |

sunsaz writes: on Dec 13 2009 08:53 PM I don't think I can remember pushing as hard for a film to do well in the awards season as I'm pushing for Hurt Locker this year. Way to go, HL! Keep it up! (Reply to this) |

Jay Sherman writes: on Dec 13 2009 10:00 PM LMAO @ D9 winning best production design, it looks like they just had a bunch of props left over from the failed halo movie that they used. (Reply to this) |

Bed Head writes: on Dec 13 2009 10:50 PM I suppose I'll have to "bite the bullet" and go see The Hurt Locker at some point. Even though war movies are so not my thing. Anyways, nevertheless, it's nice to see a female director garnering such acclaim. Seeing as so few ever receive the full credit they deserve. P.S. What the funk is "Seraphine"? (Reply to this) |

jordanj1988 writes: on Dec 14 2009 08:41 AM In reply to this comment (#2571871) Seraphine is actually really good. it's a french film about the life of a painter named Seraphine Louis. it swept the french oscars (cesars) last year but received a very limited u.s release. glad to see it getting some recognition. CFM writes: on Dec 14 2009 08:57 AM I tried to see The Hurt Locker, but it was only limited release and not playing anywhere near me. I tries to see The Road, but it was only limited release and not playing anywhere near me. WTF. Can someone please explain to me why some movies only get a "limited release"? (Reply to this) |
