ugh, what's next, a Family Circus adaptation? Beetle Bailey?...Kathy!

I never realized Marmaduke had such a rabid fanbase(pun intended)

Still waiting for that Mark Trail adaptation to be announced.

Alright, I'll stop now.

Owen Wilson IS...quickly becoming the new Rob Schneider. Can't wait to see him start doing cameo's in all Ben Stillers movies like Schneider does in Adam Sandlers...wait a minute, the prophecy has already been fulfilled.

From the same studio who brought us Garfield the Movie....and its even more unnecessary sequel. Fox movies seem ever more lowbrow these days.

Dammit, Owen, you deserve better.

I'm beginning to suspect he was a dog in his previous life. Or is wanting to be one after this.

Marmaduke is the perfect project for a studio like FOX.

I can think of only one word that accurately quantifies all of my feelings for this movie.

Meh.

Um...Marmaduke isn't funny.

Why that piece of **** is even in the newspaper is beyond me. Again, I would love to be a fly on the wall as to which nimrod thought this up.

Am I the only sadden that such beloved comic strips like Garfield, Dennis Mennace and now Marmaduke are ruined in these awful big-screen adaptation. Nothing worse when Hollywood decides to exume a beloved classic {whether cartoon, book or tv show} and turn it around for a cheap hallow profit. Hey, at least Garfield had a great tv show, what did Marmaduke ever had?

As long as I have known the original Marmaduke, the dane never spoke on a comic strip, he just acted like any average dog; how can they take Marmaduke the character and give him a voice when he didn't even have a voice in the first place is beyond me. They're basiscally contradicting the original comic strip which is taking away what made it fun in the first place.

Obviously one of the low points in Owen Wilson's career. If this movie were to happen and then to read any reviews for this film would be a waste of my time. I have to say this is "One of the Worst ideas of the year".

There's no way to really "ruin" Dennis the Menace or Marmaduke. They were crappy comics, and now they're crappy movies as well.

Good point, Marmaduke never even spoke in the dam comics! Any excuse hollywood can get to make a movie w/ talking animals. They obviously have a low opinion of family entertainment...It might be worth it though, if they throw in a scene w/ Marmaduke getting fixed.

'but mommy, what is that nice man doing to marmaduke w/ those pliers?'

I respectfully disagree with you, aawolve, on that statement. Especially, regarding Dennis the Menace because the title character essentially inspired a whole new archtype for television with the troubling making kid. Never forget whenever you look at the long line of rotten-lovable kid characters in tv lore, Dennis the Menace is at the root of that aged old character tree.

On Marmaduke, meh, I guess you could be right on that one. Although, who doesn't love to watch a rascal dog get into trouble and drive his owners insane? It might be an exhausted idea at this point but once again, I have to say how Marm was at the forefront of this classic idea.

You guys lie. I distinctly recall Marmaduke uttering such brilliant dialogue as, "Rowr!" and "Aroooooowooooooo!!!"

And the sad part is, if only Wilson had the acting chops to pull those lines off.

Has anyone actually read Marmaduke? It is hilarious in horrendousness. I don't think the creator has written a single joke in 10 years. I still don't understand why it's in every single newspaper? It's horrible.
