I'm an Axis & Allies kind of guy myself.

Still, good movies have been made from worse ideas than this (Pirates of the Carribean).

Unless it's going to be a movie about -playing- Risk, I shudder to think of all the kids whose notions of history will be altered by a Risk movie.

I don't know if they did it right like one poster said about people playing Risk it could be good. If you remember the "label maker" episode of Seinfield it had that sub-plot of Kramer and Newman playing risk throughout the show with the final scene...

Newman, "I still have armies in the Ukraine!",
Kramer, "The Ukraine is a road apple it's weak", "Time to put the hurt on the Ukraine"
Ukrainian, "I am from Ukraine, you do not say Urkraine is weak"
Kramer, "Hey, buddy we are playing a game here"
Ukrainian smashes the board.

Battleship has already been optioned. Along with Monopoly, Candyland, Asteroids, even the Viewmaster has its sights set on the big screen.

I'm waiting for the next big film frontier. Once the move past toys, I think they'll hit the grocery shelves for ideas.

Coming Soon: BooBerry: The Movie! Who do you think they will cast as Count Chocula?

Ok, has anyone thought about making a game based on Sorry? Man, Hollywood is getting desperate for new movies.

The perception of a movie about taking or conquering the world thesis for the examples of Gengis Kahn or another Hitler for that matter does NOT interest me at all.
