Gordon Franklin Terry Sr writes: on Nov 06 2009 04:55 AM Wow; kind of like "The Stockholm Syndrome" where the hostages begin to empathize with their captors. In the right hands "CRY OF THE OWL" can be better than FATAL ATTRACTION. of course in the wrong hands--like the critic on NPR said of THE PRISIONOR TV series remake on AMC--CRY OF THE OWL will just be another film of scenes with actors yelling at one another and "flash-cutting" to Quote--BLOW the audience out of their seats--end-quote. Part of what makes a scene real is its truthfulness and KNOWING how a real person will respond to a very real situation. Instead of "contriving" a character out of a "collage" of "stock-cliches" to "blow the audience" (innuendo: BLOW). a "Blow" isn't the real experience. (Reply to this) |
