Joss Whedon wants to take over the Terminator franchise

http://www.joblo.com/whedons-terminator

I have only seen Firefly and Serenity, but I definitely think this would be a great idea, particularly since I thought Salvation was a disaster.

I like Whedon and would be interested and all but seriously, where else could this continuing Terminator story with its wonky timeline possibly go without stepping on itself?

I look forward to John Connor describing Skynet as a "tyrant-computery-thing".

It's "voilà".

I'd rather see Joss Whedon helm a live-action Sailor Moon movie myself.

How about come up with a NEW franchise!!! The Terminator is over and effectively ended in 1991 after the 2nd of two terrific films and the story had been told. T3 was atrocious, T4 was ok, but thet're not even all that popular anymore so why would they keep making them? The Terminator isn't James Bond.

I expect to see a spunkier, sassier Terminator team up with it's band of misfit friends to take on an evil yet witty and self-depreciating Skynet and it's army of Summer Glau's.

Hmmm...army of Summer Glau's.

Jesus, guys, he's joking. You don't seriously think the asking price for the Terminator franchise is lower than 10,000 dollars, do you?

I'm fairly sure it's somewhere in the 25K range. Last I heard, they had a decent monthly payment plan.

Is it just me or is this the ideal moment for James Cameron to step into the fray, caugh up a few millions and take back control of his baby?? He may not admit it, but deep down inside it's gotta hurt seing your creation get butchered by greedy hacks exploiting his hard work. This is his chance to make sure it ends.

I read this earlier. A lot worse things could happen to the franchise.

Only the 2nd one was really good so I don't really care about this news that much. Any sequel they make will only water down this franchise even further.
